Hello there. My name is Jack and I’m a Local(ish) Artist of Very Minor Import who you probably won’t remember from doomed ventures such as Questionable Time, Misheard Lyrics Illustrated and anything Loudribs-related. These days though, I am best known for my Rubbish Seaside series of bleakly honest railway poster.

Yes! I mean no! No, I’m actually letting you know because I need your help in getting this thing done.
SOUNDS WEIRD AND SUSPICIOUS – GO ON.
So I’m a surprisingly bad artist who needs *a lot* of reference photography to work off – something I usually achieve by doing a lot of street shoots, making composites in photoshop, that sort of thing. However, this time I thought I’d change it up a bit and actually ask for willing participants from the unsuspecting host community.
SO YOU WANT US TO POSE AS MODELS FOR A POSTER THAT POKES FUN AT US?
Yes.
WHY ON EARTH WOULD WE DO THAT?
I have no idea, but if put on the spot I’d say it’s a result of our rather odd national tendency to express affection through gentle mockery. This is your opportunity to not only fine-tune that mockery at a ridiculously local level, but also become the instrument/subject of it.
HOW VERY UNSAVOURY
I know, but just think of ‘unsavoury’ as meaning ‘not-not-sweet’.
SO LET’S SAY I DO WANT TO GIVE THIS A WHIRL, WHAT’S IN IT FOR ME?
Aside from ARTISTIC IMMORTALITY? I will literally give you a medal. An actual, in-real-life medal (whose design has yet to be nailed down). That, and a whole bunch of prints, postcards and other guff. Oh, and full digitial files of the character portarait for you to do whatever the hell you want with.
